Where did we come from? Why are we here? What is our purpose? What happens after we die? These are questions that men and women have asked for thousands of years, and will continue to ask. Because life is so temporal – “a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away” (James 4:15) – these questions are critical.
If there is a God (or gods), and if there is the hope of an afterlife, don’t you think we should make an effort to ascertain the identity of God? After all, if there is a God, He may have a will for us to follow! Our eternal life may very well be at stake!
But if there is no higher power, no eternal spirit, no afterlife, then we’re really wasting our time by going to church and striving to live a “pious” life! If this life really is all there is, we need to know it so that we can find the most pleasure and happiness in life as possible.
As I’m sure you well know, there are a variety of different answers to these questions. There are thousands of different religions that offer a different path to enlightenment and/or eternal life. Then there are those who say that there is no God, or that we cannot know whether there is a God or not. I’m sure your thoughts immediately turn to the ongoing debate between creationists and evolutionists. Are we the result of millions of years of random genetic mutations and “descent with modification” (as Darwin referred to evolution)? Or, have we been created by God?
My name is Casey Head. I’m a Bible-believing Christian who is passionate about these issues. Because I believe that eternal souls are at stake, and because I view this as one of the most dangerous battlegrounds in the spiritual warfare that is going on in the world today, I have made it my goal to understand and articulate these issues to the best of my ability.
More about me? I’m a college dropout from Kentucky. I’ve been preaching the gospel for almost 11 years – in Kentucky, Wisconsin, North Carolina and Nevada. I’m married with six children. I love Kentucky and Louisville basketball. I like to play basketball and golf (when I have time). And I’m an avid writer of young adult fiction and spiritual literature.
If you’re wondering about what “type” of creationist I am:
- Yes, I believe that the Bible is literally the word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
- Yes, I believe that Jesus is the only way to salvation (John 14:6).
- Yes, I believe that God created the world in six days (Genesis 1-2).
- No, I do not believe in the Big Bang or (macro)evolution.
So, yeah…I’m one of those. And proud of it.
I’m looking forward to building this website. Stay tuned as I continue to write new articles, and please let me know if you ever have any questions or suggestions for new topics.
